Super easy to install. Really tough and well balanced for strength to weight - enough thickness, but not too much material, good sizing for hub flange and spoke elbow coverage. 2 parts - chromoly centred core with al body for the replacement cone adaptor, then the chromo sleeve sits snugly and neatly on that.
I'm a pretty basic rider and getting too old to do any big setups, but for grinding rough ledges and rusty rails etc, this is great and I don't imagine needing to replace it any time soon.
Really good to have an option for a chromo guard that means you don't have to spread your frame. Other companies such as Eclat, Subrosa and Shadow used to do specific chromo guards for rear hubs that replaced cones, so maintained spacing, but sadly none are easily available these days, so it's great BSD now have an option for their rear hubs. Even better that there's also a drive-side guard option too.
I've tried a bunch of universal chromo guards, Daily Grind infinity and driveside, G-sport uniguard, Eclat overguards and servo guards. Each works really well, but having to get the rear wheel in and out was a pain if needing to fix a flat (eg. DG guards, servos not so bad) or the overguard designs are a bit bulky and would stick out a bit too much, so it meant hanging up on ledges occasionally.
Overall, bit costly up front, but it'll last with rotation.
